Lesson 10: Part 1 ▶ Part 2: 2nd Person Plural Pronouns Dialogue Exercises Vocabulary

Talking to a Group

In Lesson 10.1, you mastered the 5 singular pronouns (I, You-M, You-F, He, She). But what do you say when you're talking to a group of people? Look at the examples first!

أَنْتُمْ طُلَّابٌ
Antum tullaabun
You all (M) are students
أَنْتُمْ — You all (Masc.)
أَنْتُنَّ طَالِبَاتٌ
Antunna taalibaat
You all (F) are students
أَنْتُنَّ — You all (Fem.)

The Rule

Arabic distinguishes whether a group is male or female. The 2nd Person Plural has two separate pronouns depending on the gender of the group you're addressing.
