Dialogue: Revision in conversation
أَحْمَد
بَيْتُ اللَّهِ جَمِيلٌ. هَذِهِ إِضَافَةٌ. بَيْتٌ مُضَافٌ وَاللَّهُ مُضَافٌ إِلَيْهِ مَجْرُورٌ.
The House of God is beautiful. This is an idafa. House is mudhaf, and Allah is mudhaf ilayh (majrūr).
زَيْنَب
وَهَذِهِ كُتُبٌ جَدِيدَةٌ. الْقَاعِدَةُ الذَّهَبِيَّةُ: غَيْرُ عَاقِلٍ → خَبَرٌ بِصِيغَةِ الْمُفْرَدِ الْمُؤَنَّثِ.
And these are new books. The Golden Rule: non-human plural → predicate in feminine singular form.
أَحْمَد
الرَّجُلُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ. فِي حَرْفُ جَرٍّ، وَالْمَسْجِدِ مَجْرُورٌ. وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ.
The man is in the mosque. In is a preposition, and the mosque is majrūr. And he is a believer.
زَيْنَب
ذَهَبَ الطَّالِبُ إِلَى الْمَدْرَسَةِ. فِعْل وَفَاعِل مَرْفُوعٌ. نَحْنُ جَاهِزُونَ لِلْكِتَابِ الثَّالِثِ!
The student went to the school. Verb and subject (marfūʿ). We are ready for Book 3!
أَحْمَد
مُرَاجَعَةٌ: الْمُثَنَّى ـَانِ وَـَيْنِ. وَالْجَمْعُ السَّالِمُ ـُونَ وَـِينَ وَـَاتٌ.
Revision: the dual ـَانِ and ـَيْنِ. And the sound plural ـُونَ, ـِينَ, ـَاتٌ.
زَيْنَب
الْفِعْلُ الْمَاضِي ذَهَبَ، كَتَبْتُ، قَرَأَتْ. وَمَا لِلنَّفْيِ.
Past tense: he went, I wrote, she read. And مَا for negation.
أَحْمَد
الْإِضَافَةُ كِتَابُ الْمُعَلِّمِ. وَالْجَارُ وَالْمَجْرُورُ فِي الْفَصْلِ.
Idafa: the teacher's book. And preposition phrase: in the classroom.
زَيْنَب
الضَّمَائِرُ أَنَا، هُوَ، هِيَ، نَحْنُ، هُمْ. وَالضَّمَائِرُ الْمُتَّصِلَةُ ـِي، ـكَ، ـُهُ.
Pronouns: I, he, she, we, they. And attached pronouns ـِي, ـكَ, ـُهُ.
أَحْمَد
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ. كِتَابُنَا الثَّانِي جَمِيلٌ. نَحْنُ جَاهِزُونَ لِلْكِتَابِ الثَّالِثِ!
Praise be to Allah. Our second book is beautiful. We are ready for the third book!
زَيْنَب
مُرَاجَعَةٌ نِهَائِيَّةٌ: الْجُمْلَةُ الْاسْمِيَّةُ وَالْفِعْلِيَّةُ، الْإِعْرَابُ، الْأَرْقَامُ، الْجَمْعُ. بَرَكَ اللهُ فِيكُمْ!
Final revision: nominal and verbal sentence, I'rab, numbers, plural. May Allah bless you!
